Saying “that awkward moment when” in a status update on social media has today been named as the world’s number one cause of awkward moments.
The world’s leading authority on awkward moments, Quentin Tarantino, broke the news during a typically awkward interview with Wunderground earlier today.
“When it comes to awkward moments, it’s fair to say I’ve seen more than my share,” explained Tarantino before pausing for an uncomfortably long period of time. “I’ve done auditions with Jesse Eisenberg, can you imagine how awkward having me and that guy in the same room would be? It was, like, having sex with your grandmother awkward, so I think I know a bit about awkward moments.”
“That doesn’t even compare to the awkwardness levels reached when somebody puts one of those god awful ‘that awkward moment when’ statuses up on social media,” continued Tarantino, who stared at the same point on the wall for the entire interview. “Maybe back in 2013 it would have been acceptable but, now, you just can’t be posting things like that. Can I have a look at your feet?”
Avid Facebook user Simon Parker claims that the majority of “awkward moment” statuses aren’t even awkward and that he will “easily unfriend” anybody he sees posting one.
“People just seem to have no concept of what an awkward moment is these days,” claimed Parker. “An awkward moment is when your girlfriend catches you wanking with her sister’s knickers on your head, not forgetting your keys and having to go back to your house or seeing a dog who looks just like yours on the street and calling it the wrong name, there’s nothing awkward about that at all, that’s just you being a cunt.”
“I’ll totally unfriend anyone who I see using the term ‘that awkward moment when’ it makes my blood boil,” revealed Parker, who was becoming visibly angry just thinking about it. “Then, the next awkward moment they’ll have will be the next time I meet them and tell them I unfriended them because they’re a complete moron.”
According to Tarantino, other causes of awkwardness he has endured include dinner in David Carradine’s house, pretending to like Bruce Willis, the time Christoph Wlatz asked him what part he would be playing in The Hateful Eight and anything to do with Steve Aoki.
